It was another successful weekend for Team Viking in the Fun Cup as they claimed their third podium of the season, and continue to build towards an overall podium finish at the end of the season.

Car issues cost Team Viking in the Welsh eight-hour race

Anglesey played host to Round six of the 2019 Fun Cup, where Team Viking were ready for the eight-hour race after claiming victory at the last round.

A complete washout meant that the team had very little time in testing, but come the qualifying session the team were consistently setting top five times. Having won the last race in Zandvoort, the team found themselves starting in 20^th, last place on the grid.

Nunn held off an attack from Apollo Racing to take the chequered flag, and crossed the finishing line to take Team Viking’s first top step on the podium.

After struggling to make headway at the previous three rounds, Team Viking enjoyed a stellar weekend of racing at the Dutch circuit of Zandvoort, ultimately walking away victorious from the two-race weekend after securing their first top step on the podium and a third place finish. The result has revived Team Viking’s bid for a long-awaited 2019 Fun Cup title.

Croft Circuit in County Durham hosted the Fun Cup for the first time since Team Viking joined the series. Drivers Nick Nunn and Mark Holme were keen to test the track which has a great variety of open flowing corners, tight hairpins and long straights.
